Yitz is a 6 month old male Deerhound Cross. He was very much loved but from an accidental litter. The other six were homed at 9 weeks through rescue, both parents are now neutered.

The owner had tried to keep three of the puppies, but predictably it was all too much and she was unable to keep all three.

Yitz needs a home with a least one other dog, he has been socialised by his owner out and about, but always with his siblings. Visitors to the home were rare, so he does have some anxiety meeting new people and needs to be allowed to make friends in his own time if he chooses to. with no pressure from anyone.

Preference was given to rural homes with decent-sized gardens, he would struggle in a busy urban environment. Yitz travels well. Walks nicely on a lead, if with another confident dog or dog.

Yitz is great with dogs big and small, and very respectful of his elders, though can be a pest with over-enthusiastic greetings if they don’t tell him to stop.

His house training has been good, and he is clean all night – as long as he is taken outside before bedtime.

Yitz isn’t destructive, as in he hasn’t chewed furniture, but will steal bits of paper and chew them up. He also pinches items like tes towels if left lying around and abandons them outside.

Yitz has a good recall but is not yet confident enough to be off lead in an unenclosed area, in case he panics and runs. Yitz is a tall lad, and still growing, so expected to reach a decent size.

Yitz is a Santander in Kidwelly South West Wales. Adopters will need to travel to meet/collect him, after a successful application and home check.
